Sum Place Lore

[A few updates] Imperium continues its winning streak, winning the follow up Chaos mini campaign and the follow up 40K Pirates of the Graildark Campaign (Ork, Dark Eldar and Imperium), which featured a lot of 40K raids and fighting over scrap counters. Now with the Graildark Nebulae firmly secured, we're spending some time doing more orky mini games and celebrating the wonderful world of Sum Place, while we figure out what the next big campaign will be.  So with that in mind I'll be posting some lore based on our fun mini games and campaigns. All written from the orks (and grots perspective!) Chapter 1: Sum Place Right, my names McSquiggins, I'm the oldest and cunniest grot around these parts. And I'm ere to tell yah about Sum Place. Wots Sum Place you ask? Well it's a world in da ooniverse. A part of tha ooniverse wit no Tau Bluies and no  Tyranid bug fings, but plenty of humies, spikey chaos humies, an pointy eared gitz about.  In any case, Sum Place waz nice an ...

The Graildark Nebulae

Image
So the Ork rise to greatness campaign kind of stalled out. Why? Because Da Boyz just wanted to stay Boyz. I.E. We just wanted to play various orky mini games and not progress into Warhammer 40K. Alright so onto the next thing. Battle Fleet Gothic! We just finished a monthlong campaign between Imperium, Chaos and of course, Ork Pirates.  1st Place was Imperium, Subsector Commander John with 12 renown. Second was Orky Big Nob, Captain Rotear with 8 renown, and last place was Chaos Champion Felix, with a miserable 5 renown. (Chaos played by me or course) The campaign was played out on a super small custom 5 planet subsector called the Graildark Nebulae, which is part of the Gothic Sector. The campaign takes place in 160 M41, years after Abaddon's defeat in the Gothic war. Despite the Imperial victory however the Imperium still has not liberated this part of the sector from Chaos domination, until now.  During the campaign the players were restricted to raid and big raid sce...

New Place, Same WAAAGH!

Welcome to Sun Place, it's the new location for our new campaign. Rise to Grateness! What is Sum Place? It's an isolated ork planet somewhere in Segmentum Obscurus around 100 M41. While the ork tribes have made some technological progress, the idea of space travel, aliens, and interplanetary conquest is completely unheard of. Nearly all orks believe Sum Place is da only place in da un-i-verse, and that Der Iz No Such Fings as Aliens ! However, one ork wants to change all that, and maybe he will! In this campaign one player takes on the role of the hero trying to rise to warboss. All other players are there just to get in the way and stop him.  Mechanics : Except as otherwise indicated, when your character wins, you advance to the next stage. If you lose, take a leadership test. If you fail, your character suffers a crisis of confidence and goes back down one level. I.E. A boy who fails his mission goes back down to Yoof. If you pass the test, you remain at the same stage and ...

The Fall of BOD Campaign and a New Setting

Alas all good things come to an end. Such as it was with BOD, the Gorkamorka Like world that was home to our favorite warboss, Decskull.  After initially surviving the initial tyranid invasion, as detailed in the Battle of BOD, the orks were able to live in relative "peace" for a while, fighting each other, racing in the desert, and other fun. But eventually the Tyranids came back big time in the form of a massive infestation that got worse and worse. Here is the highlight reel from our family's 40K 3rd Edition campaign.  1. Da Brewhouse Bash! The tyranids attack an isolated brewhouse at night. Orks win! 2. Into the Mines: Decskull leads a warband to destroy a tyranid infestation deep in the mines beneath a mountain. Tyranids win.  3. The Battle for BOD Town: The tyranids launch an all out assault on BOD Town. Using genestealer tunnels to great effect, the Tyranids win! 4. Stoppin Dem: Deprived of the fuel refineries of BOD town, the orks desperately try to halt the ty...

Stories from BOD

Da First Battle Against Da Nids In one of the brew house's of a small ramshackle ork settlement Gorgrut raised a tall mug of fungus brew to his lips as he started to tell a story toa group of yoofs gathered around the table. "Eh you dumb yoofs listen up. This is BOD. That means the Big Orky Desert. Everything under the sky is BOD. Everything above the sky ain't." "Now BOD has two big tribes, the Red Skullz and the Ded Fangs. Red is for Gork, and Ded is for Mork. They got to scrappin now and then but nothing too excitin. But then came this weird mob called da Bug Boys. Dey painted themselves all purple and said dey wasn't for Gork or Mork, but sumthing called Torque. Somethin was wrong with dem. Dey didn't seem real orky! So all the Red Skullz and Ded Fangz got together and went to da Bug Boyz fort and stomped dem real good. But after dey wuz all ded, we looked up into the sky and realized da real bugs ad shown up! They poured out of the sky comin down in ...
